The Malawi Knowledge Network is involved in a number of activities:
Online Discussion Forum
We have an online forum where different topics of discussion are floated to members to have their views solicited on such a topic. Policy Briefs are then produced after synthesizing members input to the topic of discussion. The policy briefs are then presented to relevant stakeholders such as policy makers in the concerned field. Current topic of discussion can be viewed http://maknet.org.mw/. Policy briefs can be downloaded at http://maknet.org.mw/category/document-types/policy-briefs
Face to face discussions/debates
MAKNET also holds face to face discussions where experts come together to discuss a chosen topic. The discussions are usually characterized with a presentation from a leading expert of the field concerned and thereafter the audience shares out their views. Policy Briefs are then produced after synthesizing members input to the topic under debate. The policy briefs are then presented to relevant stakeholders such as policy makers in the concerned field. Past MAKNET events may be viewed on http://maknet.org.mw/content/maknet-past-events
MAKNET Specialized Discussion Groups
In addition to the online discussion forum, MAKNET also has specialized discussion groups where by members in their respective fields of specialization can also have topics of discussions amongst themselves. MAKNET specialized groups can be accessed at http://maknet.org.mw/og
